A new U-Haul app allows customers to rent a truck whenever they need one at anytime of the day

U-Haul, the moving truck and storage rental company, have released a new self-serve application where customers can order a truck do everything they need to with it whenever they need one.

The process calls for the customer to use their smartphone’s camera as have to receive remote approval from a staff member. The customer take a selfie to prove their appearance, a picture of their driver’s license, the truck’s fuel gauge, the odometer, and the truck’s current condition, which likely requires multiple pictures. When the U-Haul service member approves them, the customer proceed to a nearby lockbox where they obtain the rental truck’s keys to then continue as they normally would. When they finish moving, they return the keys in a similar fashion and take photos of the truck’s condition following use.

With this new program, anyone looking to move in the middle of the night or in the early hours of the morning can do so without having to wait until their local U-Haul store opens.
