Bisecu syncs with your phone to offer a greater level of information and control

A new smart bicycle lock called Bisecu syncs with the owner’s smartphone to lock and unlock automatically as they walk away or return. Unlike other bicycle locks, the Bisecu connects to the hub of the front tire. If someone were to attempt to steal the bicycle, the lock will sound an alarm and send a notification to the owner’s smartphone.

When the lock is on, someone placing their hands on the handlebars will set off the alarm, preventing anyone from picking the bike up to steal. A speedometer, gyroscope and accelerometer were are also installed inside of Bisecu to track the rider’s speed, calorie count and distance traveled in the companion app.

The developers behind Bisecu created a Kickstarter campaign with a goal of $30,000. Backers have already surpassed this goal with 21 days left.
