The professional network wants to provide its members more transparency and useability on its job boards

LinkedIn announced that it will soon debut Salary Insights, a new feature on the site’s open job posts that will allow applicants to know the approximate salary of a position before they apply for it. Similar to anonymous job review site Glassdoor, Salary Insights will provide an overall estimated salary as well as base compensation, range and total compensation (including bonuses) for a given role.

The data for these estimates derives from either employers who have posted their salary ranges or LinkedIn members in similar positions and locations whose identities will be kept private. Salary Insights is the next step for the site after it launched LinkedIn Salary in 2016, which provides salary details for specific job titles but not roles open for application, as the new feature is set to in the next few weeks.
