In Brief

A sleep tracker, in the form of a pressure-sensitive pad placed under the mattress, adds another product to the Nokia Health lineup

Nokia, the brand known for “indestructible” phones, is releasing an interesting slew of Internet of Things products, including a sleep tracker. Unlike other trackers worn around the wrist or head, Nokia Sleep comes in the form of a pressure-sensitive pad placed under the mattress.

The device, which retails for $100, measures your movements at night and listens for any snores. The device can also monitor the user’s heart rate.

The device is deeply ingrained in the IoT ecosystem. When the user lies down in bed, connected lights will automatically dim and air conditioning will adjust to optimal levels.

Nokia Sleep joins the roster that forms the brand’s Health suite. The Sleep device joins fitness watches, a digital blood pressure monitor and a premium connected weighing scale.
