Facebook users can now search for local home professionals, view ratings and request quotes from multiple people at once

Facebook announced an addition to its Marketplace feature for local businesses that will help users find home services for hire on the platform. It works in partnership with the established marketplaces Handy, HomeAdvisor and Porch and is intended as a one-stop shop for home projects, aggregating ratings, reviews and credentials by location.

Users can search for home cleaners, contractors, plumbers and other professionals, describe their project and send a request for a quote to multiple people at once on Facebook Messenger. The feature is part of a continued effort from Facebook to tap into areas in which other platforms have found success and expand what it does to offer more dynamic services. The home marketplace begins rolling out today and will be available across the U.S. within a few weeks.
