Here’s how two specific companies are implementing virtual reality technology to connect people with similar entertainment interests:

High Fidelity
VR company High Fidelity has created a dance club in VR, where people (in avatar form) can experience a different world of dancing. Users get to experience a crazy combination of lights, music and voices in the virtual world, and when avatars speak to each other, their mouths are also in sync.  Users wear vests that let them experience the sense of touch in real life that their avatar experiences in the virtual world, making it feel very close to reality. The company wants to provide VR experiences that bring people together in a different dimension.

TheWaveVR
TheWaveVR is a virtual venue that allows audiences from anywhere in the world to be virtually represented, and can interact, dance and engage with concerts. The platform enables users to view, host, and socialize in shows world wide, and aims to empower artists and music lovers alike by transforming the way people connect through music.

Until recently, art and socialization forms like music and dance remained reserved for physical reality. Now thanks to VR capabilities, people can connect non-locally to enjoy their favorite entertainment.
