Walmart Launches Makeup Consultations To Draw Customers To Stores

The retailer is offering in-store demos and personal beauty consultations with its exclusive cosmetics brand Hard Candy

Walmart has been working with the cosmetics company Hard Candy to give shoppers across the United States personal in-store makeup consultations. Walmart and Hard Candy first teamed up in 2009 to make the brand exclusive to the retailer, but this latest venture brings more prominence to Hard Candy’s products while providing Walmart with an experience that draws customers into stores.

At 365 stores in states including California, Arizona, Florida, New York and Texas, consumers can take advantage of demos that intend to deliver two designated styles: Rock the Golden Glow for the day, and Rock the Golden Glam for the night. Within those looks are a variety of items advertised by Hard Candy, like Be Bold Mascara and Plumping Serum Lip Gloss. As expected in a partnership with Walmart, the Hard Candy items are affordably priced. The consultations program launched on May 10 and will continue for the next 12 months.
