PSFK Competition: Redesign The Crap Absinthe Ad

We knew there was something wrong but we couldn’t pinpoint it. And then we realized, it was that crap ad on the right hand side of the page. Not that advertising Absinthe is crap, it’s just that the Absinthe ad doesn’t exactly compare or contrast very well with our purple purple.

And so, we announce a quicky PSFK competition!

Save PSFK by redesigning the absinthe ad. By noon 5.30pm EST on Friday. Win bottle of Green Fairy.

Yes, we shocked the advertiser when we pinged them about this competition. Yes, it’s a little odd. Yes, the advertiser agreed to give the winner a free bottle of green fairy googly juice, use the new ad from now on (with credit) and we’ll post the top 5 next Monday (if we get 5 entries).

You can also mess around with the words too because PSFK honestly believes that  the art of copy-writing is just as important as the pretty pictures. Anything to do with drunkenness will be rejected.

Spec: The ad must be a jpeg or gif, less than 16k and max: 150 x 200 pixels

Rules: All entries via email to admin@psfk.com by 5.30pm EST Friday May 20th 2005. Absinthe Supply will select the winner. You have to indicate whether you’re over 21 with the entry. Please be honest. If you win and you’re a junior – we’ll find something just as special. The bottle can only be shipped to places Absinthesupply.com delivers to – if that turns out to not be where you live, you can
always pop round my apartment in NYC and we can finish the stuff in a
one night sitting. With friends of course. Imagery must have rights cleared. PSFK reserves the right to
change the rules at any time if it all becomes too much of a pain.

But note: PSFK does not encourage the participation of alcoholic beverages nor enjoys the effect it has upon you the next day. Drink responsibly fellas.
