The Apple Tivo

Now, we’ve given both Apple and Google a bit of stick on this site but recently this has been less so for Apple and more so for Google. Apple seems to be on a roll while Google is making a bit of a mess. The reason for this could be summed up like this:

Apple make things we want, Google makes things they want.

And here’s another example of Apple in the driving seat: rumor has it that Apple will be introducing a Tivo like device based on the Mac mini. There are few details but you can imagine the connection Apple will build between the web, TV and its iPod Video. Ryan Katz on Think Secret says:

"Apple’s media center intentions have become
startlingly clear in the past year since Apple first delivered the Mac
mini and customers first started connecting the system to home theaters
and installing it in automobiles. Sources have hinted that additional
media announcements will further propel Apple’s strategy, and with the
hardware, software, and iPod sales behind it, Apple now seems poised to
firmly plant its footprint in living rooms."
