Boutique Hotel Guide Reflects Trends

By Guy Brighton on March 12, 2006

The Boutique Hotel Guide for Europe published this weekend in the UK’s Independent newspapers describes more than some great getaway acommodations. It also highlights the categories people are looking for when choosing a destination these days. The Indie breaks the hotels into x groups:

  • Small & Perfectly Formed – “Quirky and individual”
  • An Antidote To Big Chains – Boutique chains where “usually each property is strikingly individual, and the branding is discreet”
  • Ultra Chic – “Imaginative décor attracts a very hip crowd in the public bars and restaurant.”
  • Funky Appeal – “Wacky concepts”
  • Somewhere Ancient & Modern – “Combining inventive design with historic features.”
  • I’d Like A Sea-View – “Jaw-dropping views” Gourmet Retreats Spa Facilities
