We’ve been monitoring this concept of local access to global cool for a while now. It revolves around the idea that anyone (yes, anyone) has access to sites like Josh Spear’s, listings newsletters like Flavorpill, and concepts like Yellow Arrow to gives us instant access to “now”.

In their latest edition of their newsletter, TrendWatching looks at this concept and suggests that the longing for new cool content is “Infolust”:

Experienced consumers crave detailed information on where to get the best of the best, the cheapest of the cheapest, the first of the first, the healthiest of the healthiest or the coolest of the coolest. Instant information gratification is upon us!
