PopGadget Pops Up in Henri Bendel
This winter, tech blog PopGadget.com will be operating a temporary holiday shop within luxury NYC department store Henri Bendel. The collaboration seems to be the latest in a fledgling trend of bloggers making forays into the real-world counterparts to their online activities: A few months ago we read about photoblogger Lauren Ptak (www.iheartphotograph.com) scoring her own curated show at Madison Avenue gallery Higher Art.
The PopGadget, um, pop-up shop, which opened on Monday, is stocked with about 20 items, ranging from the $50 Griffin iKaraoke to the $650 Prada cell phone, personally curated by the blog’s co-founders Mia and Hoyun Kim. Incidentally, Henri Bendel has not been particularly tech-savvy in the past: The store’s very first website launched just last month.
