graham-hill.pngGraham Hill, founder of eco-supersite Treehugger.com, will be joining us at PSFK Conference New York, discussing what it means to be (and do) “Good.”

First, who are you and what do you do?

I’m Graham Hill. A boy, heck, a MAN. I’m Canadian, 37 and a serial entrepreneur with a leaning towards social entrepreneurship and the ol’ Interwebs. I’ve built 3 successful companies, a 60 person web developer in Seattle (95-2000), a greek cup business and TreeHugger.com which is now part of the awesome Planet Green initiative at Discovery Communications and what I continue to obsess about.

You’ll be speaking on our Good Business panel - can you sum up your views on how green is affecting businesses?

For most businesses green is a threat and an opportunity. Different businesses are reacting to it differently. Some understand that we are going to be living in a carbon restrained economy and are making the jump in order to optimize their chances for success in this new world. Others are unaware or trying to ignore it or trying to pretend that it’s not happening.

Would you agree that “good is the new green”?

I think that green has become a powerful meme in the past few years and as such is causing the world to question on what other levels we might be needing to evolve. Taking care of the planet is important for our long term and even possibly short term survival. Also, treating people around the world as you’d like to be treated yourself is gaining some traction, hence more interest in “good”.
