Wine in a Can Design

By Nicko Margolies on July 22, 2008

Without addressing the fear of drinking slightly metallic tasting wine, we wholeheartedly approve of this industrial design for a Wine Can. The prototype swept the Swedish Design Awards with the Best Environmental Adaptation and helped its designers earn the prize for Best Design Student. The Wine Can was designed by Jens Andersson and Jonas Forsman. We hope this sleek packaging will offer a recyclable format for delivering a smooth Malbec or a smokey Sauvignon Blanc. The designers are still shopping for investors and describe the project’s unique, sustainable attributes:

The 25 cl wine can is recycled in the same way as other aluminium cans. By developing more products that use the same recycling system profits can be made both for the environment and the consumer.
