All Plastic E-Paper Coming to Market Next Year

By Dan Gould on October 15, 2008

The BBC points us to recent innovation in the field of electronic paper. Engineer Dean Baker from Dresden based Plastic Logic, demonstrated their robust and flexible entry into the e-paper market. The electronic newspaper is made of all plastic parts and can hold hundreds of newspapers. It can also withstand all types of everyday abuse, as Baker demonstrated by smacking with his fist. Plastic Logic’s factory opened last month, and it’s the world’s first commercial scale plastic electronics manufacturing plant. Their e-paper is scheduled to be released next year, and looks like it could become a very viable paper alternative.
