There have been so many “Hello I’m A Mac” ads they’re not normally newsworthy but we noticed a new set via Digg this morning and thought that the Bean Counter was a rather good attack on Microsoft’s approach to the market:

Maybe someone got news how any of those ads increase Mac market share? And Vista’s? :)

It’s kind of funny, but it’s also pretty much bullshit. I mean Apple puts a whole lot of money in advertising as well and they also have a whole lot of issues with their hardware (more so than their software) which could probably be fixed with the money they spend elsewhere. I’d love to see a comparison of revenue vs. ad spending for the two companies. Imagine they’re not that far off.
This iPhone ad is a perfect example: http://www.37signals.com/svn/posts/1190-sour-apple-how-an-apple-ad-sets-the-wrong-expectations (they’re spending money talking about the speed of iPhones when everyone I know is complaining about how damn slow they are).

Thanks for the comments!
I don’t think that the iPhone speed issue is a big a concern among the chattering classes as the concern for using Microsoft software. That’s why I think it’s particularly poignant.

That’s fair, but that’s because Apple’s market share is so much smaller than Microsoft’s, not because it’s a lesser issue necessarily (after all, Vista isn’t so much of an issue for most — they just haven’t upgraded).

nice try, but the recent “im a pc” ads blow every single mac advertisement with justin long out of the water completely.
