Google’s Mail Goggles Helps Prevent Drunk E-mailing

By Dan Gould on October 7, 2008

Google to the rescue! Gmail Labs has created a feature that will help anyone who’s had that late-night, drunken urge to send an email that they may regret in the morning. “Mail Goggles” is a little window that will pop up and prompt you to do some simple math equations before allowing your (potentially embarrassing) email to be sent. The problems are simple, but give you a chance to at least reflect on whether emailing your ex at 4am is a good call. Mail Goggles is set to catch late Friday and Saturday night e-mails, but you can set the times to whenever you want in the preferences. If only this feature came on mobile phones.
