BBC To Simulcast All Shows On TV & Web

By Piers Fawkes on November 19, 2008

The BBC has announced that intends to broadcast its mainstream shows simultaneously on the web and the TV. The British broadcaster has been doing this with its minor channels in the UK for a while but now BBC One and BBC Two will be streamed live.

This will boost web-viewership of the content. These shows can be watched on the BBC’s iPlayer (restricted to UK viewers on PCs) and the BBC expects the iPlayer’s viewership to be second only to BBC One by 2012.
