It’s surprising that touch screen vending machines haven’t showed up sooner, but they’re now on their way to a mall near you. Recently debuted at CES, the Sapient designed Samsung uVending machines feature a huge, fully featured touchscreen which uses animations and interactive menus to assist and enrich your soda ordering experience. They are also outfitted with WiFi to alert owners to dwindling supplies, or update digital content. You also may want to think twice about giving the machine a shake to pry loose a hesitant soda, motion sensors are embedded that dole out on-screen warnings – and there’s reportedly a built in camera to capture images of vandals. They’ll be rolled out soon in the Simon chain of malls in the US, and in the UK sometime in 2010. Check out a video of the uVending machine in action below.

This shit is so cool I just turn 35 and I have been waiting for stuff like this to come out most of my life, now if we could just get the flying cars and robots maid we would have finally made it into the future.
