To those familiar with it, NYC’s Port Authority may not scream high fashion, but coming May 1st the transportation landmark will be getting it’s first retail pop-up shop. The temporary space aptly titled Save Fashion, which is sponsored and curated by refinery29.com, will also be part sample sale space with up to 50% off on several pieces- which seems to be a creative and appealing way for designers to recoup their loses from the dismal winter shopping season. During the commencement week, the clothing itself will be mostly be up and coming indie brands like Rachel Comey, VLP, and Boy by Band of Outsiders, to be followed up the second week by more established lines like Acne, Helmut Lang, and Rogan. On the third week, the shop will become an all-men’s space featuring wears by Steven Alan, Bblessing, and Black Fleece.
