Daily Tonic points us to this colorful series of polaroid photographs that Grant Hamilton has taken. Since buying a camera in the last years of the Polaroid existence he has been taking close ups of geometric lines of color whenever he stumbles upon them. He told DT:

“Through my photos, I strive to find beauty in the mundane. It is hard to describe to passers-by why, exactly, I am photographing the side of a bus or standing on a ladder on the side of a road, trying to reach a sign. Most of the time, however, people will see the beauty that I am seeing and will smile. Often they will remark that they never noticed that before.”

Hamilton is also working on a film called Time Zero that documents the last days of Polaroid and the photographers who still try to find the final packs available of the discontinued film to work in the medium.

  1. awesome photos and romantic (polaroid film, that is)

  2. Grant Hamilton’s Polaroids remind me of paintings by Grant Wiggins: http://www.wiggz.com/paintings/

    Still very cool.

  3. Sure. I can see the reflection of Wiggins – but what I like about Hamilton’s is that it’s stuff he stumbles upon.
