We recently wrote about the plethora of virtual and alternative currencies which are popping up around the world. From hyper-local denominations that help facilitate transactions in a specific community to digital money that gets you goods and services online, people are warming to the idea of decentralized money.

That is a great video from Andy over at WSJ. Stan Stalnaker makes a great point in it discussing how the Internet has broken down the old world of big money into “personal sized” currency for everyone. It would be great if in a few years there were thousands of ‘branded’ currencies and personal currencies circulating on the web.
