Ghostwire: Augmented Reality for the Psychic Set

Ghostwire: Augmented Reality for the Psychic Set

By Nate Graham on October 29, 2009

Augmented reality gaming has been occupying the dreams of many a nerd for years now.  Despite some ads, smallish research examples and other projects, its inclusion by major market companies has been limited or uninspiring (think: eyetoy). Nintendo is changing that though, with its upcoming title, Ghostwire, slated for the DSi.  Using the embedded microphone and camera, Bill Murray wannabes can scan their actual environment for ghosts and then pester them back into the grave by finding objects to appease them.  Come 2010 it looks like Ghost Hunters might have a bit of competition.
