App Uses Crowdsourcing To Match Photos Of Missing Persons in Haiti

By Kyana Gordon on January 20, 2010

The Haiti Earthquake Support Center, a project created by The Extraordinaires allows web users to click for a good cause. The Extraordinaries launched a support page to harness the power of crowdsourcing to help locate and identify missing people in the earthquake-ravaged country. The app lets users make possible matches between submitted photos of missing persons and photos of Haiti post-earthquake.

Want to help? Upload a photo of a missing person, use your eyes to tag news images, match faces of missing persons, and if you’re missing someone search the database of sorted images.
