Chatroulette Improv: Creating Content Out Of Chaos

Chatroulette, the service for random one on one text, webcam or microphone based chatting is being used to brilliant effect by somebody named Merton on Youtube.

When a new chat partner pops up, Merton plays the piano and sings an improvised ditty:

“reclining dude in a white tank top

leaning his head on his hand

semi Italian lookin…

just like his parents had planned

probably hangin in NYC…

Very amusing, but we’re wondering if Chatroulette just might prove to be an interesting environment, useful to marketers or message senders. Imagine Chatroulette groups formed around an important cause or brand with fans – word of mouth, one fan at a time. Or imagine a game, based in the Chatroulette space – it definitely has possibilities.
