*glisten) HIVE is an interactive project which maps real time Twitter conversations contributed by pet owners. The conversations are based on what people feel their pets are thinking or doing at that time. These Twitter conversations are coded and projected as moving text patterns that mimic the swarming patterns of insects.
The project was initiated by Canadian artist Julie Andreyev and was a part of Vancouver’s Cultural Olympiad’s Digital Edition. Julie says that the project is an effort to raise awareness on the complex state of existence of animals, which not many people understand and appreciate.
