NASA Unveils Design For Its New Supersonic Jet
NASA and Lockheed Martin have designed a new concept plane called the Supersonic Green Machine that features an inverted-V “wing” over its tail section to increase the plane’s energy efficiency as well as decrease the noise created by the sonic boom which occurs when a supersonic crosses the sound barrier. NASA says it will incorporate other revolutionary technologies in the plane to help achieve its range, payload and environmental goals.
