
A Push-Button Emergency Mobile Home
Japanese firm Daiwa Lease has created a mobile home that can spring into shape with just the push of a button. Intended for a post-disaster scenario, the EDV-01, as its called, is not very big dimensionally but can host at least a few people and features essential amenities like beds, a kitchen and a bathroom. It is also equipped with solar panels, fuel cells and batteries to avoid relying on the conventional electricity grid, while satellite connectivity takes care of communication in the absence of phone networks.
