The Guardian reports that a UK town may use excess heat from a crematorium to warm its public pool. The local town council backing the proposal estimates it can save $23,000 a year, by transferring the heat generated from a nearby crematorium’s incinerators to its new sporting facility.
As state and local governments finds themselves increasingly constrained by budget deficits, proposals such as this, though odd, may find resonance.
