Tom Colicchio Curates Mobile Food For The High Line

By Emma Hutchings on May 31, 2011

When the new section of New York’s High Line opens this summer, there will be a temporary public gathering spot nearby offering food trucks, public art, free events and family activities. The project’s organizers Friends of the High Line have been lent an empty parking lot below the northern terminus until developers start building there later this year.

The Lot at 30th Street will include an outdoor 350-seat bar overseen by celebrity chef Tom Colicchio, offering domestic wines and local beers. Colicchio will also curate a number of food trucks offering some of New York’s favorite foods. The Lot will also include a public art exhibition, urban playground, live music, film screenings and other events.
