Bernard Khoury Challenges Geography And Wins
In a country that boasts a wide array of natural landscape, Lebanon-based architecture firm DW5 is led by one of the Middle East’s most important designers, Bernard Khoury, who has a number of notable projects in the Gulf and Europe.
This residential building, named Plot 4328, demonstrates an interesting architectural strategy in a tricky location. Built on a steep slope, the building works with the surroundings by restricting light on the east and west sides, while the roof bears window slices and the front of each unit has a balcony to provide a beautiful view of the valley.
The staircase located on the building gives the design a signature modern look while also providing a unique space for a pool. The pool is surrounded by glass so that the occupants view of the valley is uninterrupted as they move through the real estate.
