America is at an interesting time in its history; for a country that’s historically been so focused on the bright, gleaming new future, it’s seems uncertain about exactly what the future holds.
In the absence of a clearly defined future and with the various component parts of the American Dream in tatters– homes, cars, etc, there’s a yearning for the past that’s now very apparent in a lot of elements of politics and culture.
It’s almost as if there’s a search for re-tracing the ingredients that made the country great in the first place and reminding everyone what those are. It’s been picked up in work from Levi’s, Jeep and Chrysler and can also be seen in the new Dodge Ram work.
Without directly waving the flag- this campaign strikes at the core elements of what defined the American values and suggests that buying foreign brands is not the right thing to do.
