After unveiling their Commuter Cycling Series earlier this year, the line is launching this week in selected areas and on Levi’s website. The 511 Commuter Jean and Trucker Jacket have many features designed to enhance commuters cycling experience. Erik Joule, senior vice president of Levi’s Men’s Merchandising & Design said:

This product was born from innovation, classic American style and a personal passion for cycling – it’s about designing product for people who ride bikes, by people who ride bikes.  We knew that our jeans were already being worn by urban cyclists across the country, including our own designers.  We listened to what they wanted and created a product with performance traits for biking that also functions as daily street wear.

The jeans feature a utility waistband for u-lock storage, higher back rise for additional coverage when riding and nanosphere technology, making them water resistant, dirt repellant and more durable. They have reflective tape on the cuff, offering a high level of visibility, and are made from reinforced, performance stretch fabric.
