A new version of Apple’s iPad App of the Year goes live.
Flipboard, the magazine-style app for viewing all the news, photos, videos and other content your friends are sharing via social media, has updated its interface with a shift towards greater personalization.
The Content Guide, available by tapping the red ribbon on the home page, provides instant access to your social networks, favorite sections and featured content. There is also an built-in search that returns results for people, publications, websites or topics.
Flipboard has also added LinkedIn integration, with the ability to read what your contacts have shared, as well as a news feed featuring over 40 industries called LinkedIn Today.
Other updates include highlighted popular stories, faster flipping between stories and the ability to continue flipping through a magazine after reaching the last page of an article. Flipboard is also starting to implement semantic data-analysing tech to make the experience more personal. The next update is said to include personalized recommendations for users.
