The Weather Channel Now Integrates Your Tweets Come Rain Or Shine

By Emma Hutchings on August 12, 2011

The Weather Channel has joined forces with Twitter to launch integrated tweets in the network’s on-air programming, its website and its mobile app for a collaboration called ‘The Weather Channel Social.’ It is also launching 220 custom local Twitter feeds to update users about their city’s weather forecast.

Tweets displayed on The Weather Channel’s platforms will filter out anything deemed unsuitable for broadcasting and will only display content that is relevant to the location of a particular weather forecast. Now everyone on Twitter can pretend to be weather reporters out in the field, informing their neighbours about everything from gray clouds to beautiful rainbows.
