Twitter launches sponsored messages in users’ feeds from companies they follow.
Twitter has introduced Promoted Tweets in users’ timelines from organizations they are following. These sponsored ‘timely tweets’ will appear at or near the top of their timeline and will scroll through like other tweets once new ones are posted. Promoted Tweets can be removed from a user’s timeline with a single click.
Twitter is testing this new advertising feature over the next few weeks with a group of partners and non-profit organizations including Dell, Groupon, HBO, Microsoft Xbox, Red Bull, Starbucks, Virgin America, Make-A-Wish Foundation and The American Red Cross.
