YouTube Now Offers To Convert Your Videos To 3D

By Emma Hutchings on September 23, 2011

YouTube has launched 2D to 3D conversion this week for users’ uploaded videos. To convert your video, simply click the ‘Edit Info’ button on the video page and then select ’3D Video.’

This will enable viewers to watch your video in 3D and there will be options for selecting a viewing style, with different types of colored glasses, monitors or televisions, or they can choose to watch it in 2D.

YouTube’s conversion tool measures the motion and color of a video to simulate depth and create the 3D effect. They do note that you’ll still get the best results by shooting with a 3D camera.
