The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has released an interactive and useful infographic that depicts the efforts that have gone into producing an effective drug to fight against malaria. In Southeast Asia, there has been an alarming rate of drug resistant malaria cases. If these cases are not contained and treated, it could put millions of people worldwide at risk.
Malaria is a parasitic disease that’s often spread through mosquitoes and usually occurs in tropical and subtropical regions. Each year, more than 225 million malaria cases are reported and the disease kills over 800,000 people.
