More Mayors seem to be turning to social media in order to connect with residents. The Mayor of Swiss mountain village Obermutton used the power of Facebook to great effect, and Bob Buckhorn of Tampa, Florida has decided to utilize Foursquare to provide a tour of the city.

Mayor Buckhorn has created lists of things to do and see in Tampa, including Dining and Shopping, Attractions, Government buildings, Public safety and City of Tampa parks, plotting all of the locations on a map.

The Mayor has also added insider tips at certain places, with suggestions for menu items to try, things to do, and information about the venue, like the Raymond James Stadium:

Catch a Tampa Bay Buccaneers or a USF Bulls game in a world-class stadium that has twice hosted the Super Bowl. You’ll love hearing the pirate ship’s cannon boom after a touchdown.
