Facilitating Donations To Charity Through Gaming [Future Of Gaming]

In our research for the Future Of Gaming report, the PSFK consulting team noticed that one motivation driving in-game participation was Money On The Line. One example of this mechanic is Letgive- a New York-based charitable giving developer that has created Snooze, a free alarm clock app that ‘charges’ a person 25 cents every time the snooze button is hit. Snooze keeps track of the 25- cent penalties informing participants of their total deductions twice a month. The app uses these penalties to facilitate a donation to a charity partnered with the LetGive app like DoSomething.org or Action Against Hunger.
