Steve Jobs Memorial Statue Unveiled

By Kyana Gordon on December 23, 2011

The Hungarian architectural software maker, Graphisoft unveiled its tribute to the life and work of Steve Jobs at its campus in Budapest this past Wednesday. Created by sculptor Erno Toth, the larger than life bronze statue depicts Jobs holding an iPhone in his right hand while gesturing with his left. At his feet lies an iPad with the quotation: “The only way to do great work is to love what you do.”

The statue was commissioned by Graphisoft’s founder, Gabor Bojar who said Jobs’s work as an innovator and  entrepreneur had a profound effect on him. Designed to honor the relationship between Apple and Graphisoft, after the charismatic Jobs discovered the ArchiCAD software in 1984 and supported the company through financial and computer support.

Bojar explained to Reuters: “We have felt his spirit every day and now it is embodied,” he said. “We hope that we can deserve with our entrepreneurial culture in Hungary what this sculpture expresses as a message.”
