This will add to the frenzy about the possibility of Apple releasing a TV set in the next 18 months. The Telegraph in the UK is running an article that suggests that the Cupertino based tech company may be interested in buying rights to show the Premier League – the world’s biggest sports franchise. According to the paper, the last round of UK TV rights, for 2010 to 2013, sold for £1.7bn – and Apple has almost $10bn (£6.4bn) in cash and around another $70bn (£45bn) in cash alternatives and marketable securities.
