Verbling is a new online service creates spontaneous dialogues between random pairs who want to become proficient in new languages.
There’s no better way to learn a new language than to interact with a native speaker. Now, the new website Verbling makes it easier to find someone to practice with and have a one-on-one language exchange. The best part is, the interaction takes place via an online teleconference setting so users can get instantly connected anywhere in the world.
Once you sign up to Verbling, you can select which language you’re proficient in and which one you wish to practice. Automatically, someone will appear on your screen and the both of you have five minutes each to practice a language. There are topics presented at the bottom of the screen to help you guide the conversation, such as, “What is the nightlife like in your country?” Once the 10-minute session is up, you are automatically cut off from your partner and then connected with someone else.
Verbling is currently being branded as the spontaneous chat service Chatroulette of language learning. At the moment, Verbling is only prominent in English-Spanish exchanges, and where other languages lack native speakers.
