Music Bloodline takes an interesting approach to discovery by cataloging artists according to their musical influences, thus providing a comprehensive historical perspective on music. The site also features musician bios, discographies, top tracks, and links to Spotify and Grooveshark.

The platform was developed by Massachusetts-based Marc Neuwirth, who has created a simple interface where an artist is sandwiched between two columns: music that influenced them and music they’ve influenced. The discovery process is more self-directed and less dependent on a recommendations algorithm that attempts to understand a fan’s personal taste or a way or a scientific way of analyzing an artist’s sound.
