The brand takes over ads for other Procter & Gamble products Bounce and Charmin.
New commercials for Charmin Freshmates and Bounce show that the Old Spice brand is so strong that it can be used to help sell other products too. With actor and former NFL player Terry Crews onboard for their “Smell is Power” campaign for Old Spice’s Red Zone body sprays, he literally crashes ads for the other Procter & Gamble brands.
The commercials were made by the Old Spice agency and Wieden & Kennedy Portland. They have been introduced on Facebook and YouTube and will appear on television on February 6th. The Charmin ad features Crews’ head bursting through a box of Freshmates and his hand smashing through the wall holding a can of Old Spice. He shouts: “Old Spice is too powerful to stay in its own commercial!” The Bounce ad sees Crews smash through a wall on a Jet Ski and saying: “Old Spice body spray smells so much like power it sells itself in other people’s commercials!” Check them out below:
