Employers Get Candidates To Submit Audition Videos Instead Of Job Applications
Get Hired allows recruiters to pre-interview job-hunters by screening their videos.
Get Hired is a new online service that hopes to change the recruitment and hiring process. Companies can post a job on Get Hired and asks candidates to submit a short video of themselves answering basic questions. The try-out videos allow recruiters to pre-interview candidates and assess their communication and interpersonal skills that are otherwise hard to determine from a paper resume.
Suki Shah, CEO of Get Hired, is confident that the old systems of sifting through paper applications prior to an interview is “the most archaic process you can imagine” and is certain that the new method will save time and resources for recruiters. Lisa Rowan, analyst at IDC, agrees that using video as part of the recruitment process will “become sort of defacto” as the trend becomes more popular with hiring managers.
