Cardo Systems Inc. (a global market leader for motorcycle headsets) has created a Bluetooth communications and entertainment system for bicycle helmets. The cardo BK-1 is waterproof, lightweight and aerodynamic. It fits virtually all helmets and provides high-quality audio.

Helmet-Based Walkie Talkie System Keeps Cyclists In Communication

The device allows simultaneous intercom communication between 3 cyclists at distances up to 1,640 feet (500 m). It can also work with a mobile phone via Bluetooth to make, receive or reject hands-free calls. A ‘Click-to-Link’ function lets you connect to other nearby BK-1 users and have a spontaneous conversation. The device can adjust volume according to speed and ambient noise and has echo cancellation for increased audio clarity.

The cardo BK-1 can also link to an MP3 player or GPS device via Bluetooth so you can listen to music or navigation instructions. The system provides up to seven hours of talk time via a rechargeable battery and comes in either a solo or duo package.
