Viewing existing social networking platforms as female-oriented, Phil Mark, Frank Horton and Ben Sobczak founded Jaxx, a new niche social network for men. Designed to keep guys in touch and help like-minded individuals meet up for activities, Jaxx lets users create a private circle of friends and send group messages about various events and goings-on in their area.

New Social Networking For Bros

On the male-only social network, guys can create challenges for one or all of their friends, like a poker tournament or shooting some hoops. They can suggest plans that can be discussed through the app, with invitations for the proposal being accepted or declined by friends. There is also a function that lets users leave geonotes for friends in a certain place, which can be opened and read when they arrive at the tagged location. Jaxx has been developed for the iPhone and the team is currently looking for funding to finish the development of an Android app. It is due to go live officially in July.
