The ONE is created by South Korean designer Jeong Yong who envisioned the calendar to be presented in circles, rather than square grids. The concept includes three rings; the largest ring has 31 units to mark the days, the middle ring has 12 units for every month, and the smallest ring includes the names of the days of the week.
The three rings feature magnets inside, and can be lined up in different configurations to indicate the date and day of the week. Yong explains that the biggest ring represents the sun rising everyday, the middle one is the moon that “gyrates around Earth,” while the smallest ring represents “the people who created the seven days of the week.”
