Top artists make commitments to engage with their fans through Soundrop.fm’s new feature.
Soundrop is a social listening-room tool that enables Spotify users to create virtual rooms to deliver their playlists; these playlists are shared in real-time. The company recently announced an integration with Facebook that enables users to join/create listening rooms so they can listen to music with their friends; this update enables listening rooms to be embedded into Facebook Fan Pages so users can be on Soundrop while interacting with their Facebook network on an artist’s Facebook page.
The listening rooms combine both audio and video, allowing for an engaging experience, especially if artists were to ‘hang out’ in the rooms with their fans and get a better idea of what they’re into. Artists such as Owl City, Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, and Hot Chip have all made commitments to chat live with their fans to bolster the success of this latest feature’s launch.
The key takeaway here is that young technology companies should create features that incrementally boost awareness of their platform by deepening the loyalty of existing users and make impactful updates that potentially bring in new members. According to their press center, Soundrop has not only created a branded experience on Facebook and Spotify, but it is also opening its API to other platforms entertainment platforms like VEVO and Youtube.
